The Moth in VT

STORY

TELLER

Top Honors

The University of Vic Bill Drew watched & listened to his Boston-born Irish Catholic relatives vie for the spotlight at the dinner table as a kid. These old-school storytellers could hold your attention, make you laugh, & always signed off each tale with a simple reaffirmation of what is good in the world. As a result, Bill developed an authentic love of listening and a deep-rooted affection for corned beef & cabbage.

Honorable Mention

(tie, in order of appearance)
Who Rescued Whom? Activist, writer, & log-cabin builder, Claudia Stauber believes that every life is equally important. Birthplace: Earth. Race: Human. Politics: Freedom. Religion: Love. facebook.com/claudia.stauber or claudiastauber.com
3rd Grade Karma Max Jennings lives and works in Central Vermont as an educator. When not teaching, Max can be found making balloon animals, kite flying, sewing bow ties, walking the pup, working on stories, or seeking the best cup of coffee in the neighborhood.
Miracles John Mascitti began working hard and playing hard at a young age. He bought his first 'big-boy toy' at age 15 with the money he'd earned over a three-year period working on two local farms, mowing lawns, and shoveling snow. As a school boy, John tried very hard not to get noticed (anyone who knows him today would find that more than hard to believe). He retired from trucking a couple of years ago, but serving as president of the Canadian Club keeps him busy...too much so, according to his wife.
Orange Life Jacket Due to her unusual sense of humor, Heather Caldera has been misunderstood for years. This natural tendency strengthened during her exhaustingly long career as an RN and her years performing improvisational comedy and parenting. She is a deeply rooted New Englander who does not transplant well. An introvert who loves people in short and intense bites, Heather spends much of her time thinking of new ways to use humor to shock & awe.
